an ordinary life

Well, here we are, looking at a long hot summer. Thank goodness for the 3 pools in our family, Sher's, Susan's and our community pool--which we do not have to keep up.

This year we have been in a save-as-much-as-possible mode. Tal, the expert saver, decided on this plan for 2008 before the economy took such a slump. When we were young marrieds he used to come home from the bank and say, "Guess how much we have in savings!!" He is good at being conservative, as am I. I like to conserve in small ways and every time I do, I remember Mom teaching me how to enjoy the small things of life. She told me about "pin money" and that it meant the women would save their coins for when the guy (who sold pins) came to town. I had wonderful parents. They both had such a great sense of humor. I think this is a serious quality to work on in all our lives. If you don't feel you have a good one, WORK on it!!

I mentioned that Margayle and Cardon are moving to Flagstaff, not true. Eventually they hope to move further east but not for a while. They are sweet people, it was fun to see them at Bryce and Ashley's wedding with their darling 2 kids. Lonny Dale and Meredith and their sweet ones were there. It was so cute watching Tyler hold Brecken, Lonny and Mere's 3rd child. Brecken was smiling and pleasant during the whole wedding...........Bryce and Ashley will live in Rainbow Valley........... Marissa is headed to college in August!!! She sang at the wedding--has a good country style voice............I have been reading Lindsey and Courtni's blog and they all have such a fun time and write such interesting blogs with great pictures. My picture expertise isn't!! Love to all for now, Gramjan

Long time no blog!!

I created this blog so as to keep from repeating myself. In a family, sometimes grandmothers don't remember who they told what. Lots of good things happening these days in the family. There have been negatives also, it seems that the 2 things come together. They are interwoven at times.
Buck and Chris' Bryce is marrying a sweet girl--Ashley Ventura West-- that he met at the singles ward. Meredith and Lonny Dale are moving back to AZ from Richmond VA. Yay!! They are expecting their 4th.
Margayle and Cardon Jones' son, Jayce, graduated from Kindergarten...cap and gown even!
They are moving to Flagstaff...They are expecting again!! Marissa graduated H.S. and
Sherrie and Orson's Lindsey graduated B.Y.U. Lisa graduated EAZ, Thatcher AZ
Jeff and Shel's Morgan will graduate H.S. June 12. The Hawkes are busy as ever. I'm here to remind everyone that Elder Ballard sang my song at conference: take things off your list!!!

first post

Linz, I think I've done it, I created my own blog. I didn't get the color I chose, but if this works, great. Ecuador!! some of my favorite subjects: Gallapagos Islands--does everything happen there? Macchu Picchu (been gonna study that for a looooooooong time.) The Amazon--wow. You go girl.
Lots has been happening in our family since late March, we have all learned--again--that forgiveness and repentance really work!! DUH How many times do we need to learn that fact and apply it to EVERYONE BACK AND FORTH.
LOVE TO ALL WHO MAY READ THIS. I got to this blog point after trying to remember what I told each family member about anything. being near 70 is vellly interesting. Sometimes I wish you WOULD be a spy...that was my favorite game when I was very young....my room was really a hotel room and I had to lock both doors as I left so that my jewels would not be stolen. G goota go
